Engineering & Tooling
Our goal is to work with you to make the best possible product. To achieve this goal we have implemented early engineering involvement.
Early Engineering Involvement: We develop an understanding of the total project, including where and how the part or assembly will be used. This allows us to bring the experience of our employees into play. Many times we will offer suggestions and alternatives in order to find the best way to meet your needs, at the lowest possible cost.
We start this process by obtaining the initial information from you. This information can be obtained in many forms. Information Formats: In addition to conventional blue prints, electronic engineering data (CAD files) can be accepted in IGES, DXF, STEP, Pro-Engineer and AutoCad formats via disk or email.
There are several ways to obtain information from you. You can send the information on a CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, or as an e-mail with the file attached.
We will then need to verify that this is the current and correct information. For the verification process, we will require you to have the following listed as a note in the file you are sending:
- Customer Name
- Part Name
- Part Number
- Date Revised
We design all of the tooling in-house. This ensures accurate and timely tooling production.
Tooling: Our in-house tool design and fabrication extends from stage (short-run) to progressive tools. Pro/ENGINEER and MASTERCAM are used in tool design while CAD/CAM technology drives the wire E.D.M., laser, and CNC machining center.
Subcontracted Services: We have certified sources to provide extended services such as plating, painting, silk-screening, heat-treating and non-destructive testing.
Packaging: We provide standard commercial packaging and custom packaging. Custom packaging, such as reusable containers, is also available upon request.
